How the Mechanical Track Tensioner Works
The track tensioner is placed on top of the tracks between the track links. The tracks are tightened one side at a time using an impact wrench, ratchet, or other tool. Once the tracks are tight, the track link is installed or replaced with a smaller one. The included auxiliary links make installation and tensioning even faster and easier.
Step-by-step:
- Place the track tensioner on the edge of the tracks.
- Use an impact wrench and tighten the tensioner.
- Replace the track link with a smaller one.
- Use the impact wrench to loosen the tensioner.
- Done!

Hydraulic Track Tensioner
The HAVEL Hydraulic Track Tensioner is a reliable tool that requires no electricity or batteries. Tracks are tensioned effortlessly using the always-ready hydraulic pump included with the tensioner.
A metal base plate under the pump allows it to be placed even on uneven ground. When pumping on the plate, the pump stays firmly in place during track tensioning. The hydraulic track tensioner is a dependable tool for years to come.
A longer version of the track tensioner is also available. The opening of the extended model is 150 mm greater than the standard version.
